Eating healthy does not mean having to sacrifice the foods you love. Health is a lifestyle, not a diet fad. Eating healthy food is about your body feeling great on the inside as well as the outside, and having energy. You don't have deprive yourself, you have to learn how to eat, and not just what to eat. Portion control is a huge factor when it comes to training your body to eat right. It all starts with learning the basics of "smart" eating and taking it in as part of your everyday eating regimen. Once you get the basics down, the rest just comes naturally once your body is used to the system change.
Start by memorizing this tip. IF it can go bad, it is good for you.
Use the perimeter of your supermarket as a guide to keep your buggy full of items that will not tighten your skinny jeans. Use this list of food items as a quick guide to help jump start your new way of living healthy.
Fruits
Veggies (all the pretty, colorful ones of the rainbow)
Greens (anything green is good)
Ground Turkey
Ground Chicken
Lean beefs and pork
Chicken
Fish
Fresh deli meat (try avoiding the pre-packaged kind)
Tuna
Eggs
Dry oats (avoid the flavored packages)
Now this is just a list to get you started in the right direction. There are so many foods out there that are really good for you and still taste great. You just have to take the time to plan your shopping trips, make your list, and stick to your guns. It is very easy to deter away when you keep passing the candy or cake isle. You can do it. Have a goal and stick to it!
