The e learning trend is growing. With the economy as it is today people are concerned about their future. Going to a brick and mortar school is a great option for people right out of high school, but it is much more difficult for a woman who is already working or trying to take care of her family and possibly maintaining a job as well. For this reason It’s no surprise that almost 60% of online students are women. Reasons for furthering your education may vary from personal growth, furthering careers or future job security.
Learn why or why distance learning may or may not be right for you!
- Are you a quitter? Okay maybe that is a little extreme, but seriously are you a motivated person? If you have trouble completing a task or being dedicated online school may not be right for you. Although it is convenient to take classes on your own schedule you do still have to work. It’s not a cake-walk and you will need to be motivated. There will be studying, assignments, tests and due dates.
- Trying to better your lifestyle, get a raise or furthering your career then these are all great reasons to take courses online. Making sure you are doing it for the right reason is important to your success and completion.
- Do you work better alone or with others? It is important to some people to have in person interaction. Others prefer to not deal with other students, a classroom environment or being face-to-face with instructors. If you like to have other students to bounce ideas off of or ask questions then e learning may be difficult for you. There are still opportunities for this through email etc. but you will be less likely to find a buddy like you would when attending class.
- How many hours can you devote to learning, studying, and homework? Considering my professional and personal schedule, the amount of time I have to work on an online course is: Does your work require you to travel a lot?
